Founded
in 1983, ACP Interactive was a pioneer in the automated voice response
industry, developing applications that enabled callers to complete
transactions and access information over the telephoneall
without the need for operator assistance. In fact, ACP developed
many of the processes and techniques that are common
today:
- automated order entry
- account inquiry
- promotion response
- product sales and service
- information access and dissemination
Over
the years, our marketing professionals have successfully applied
this automated voice response expertise to the direct marketing
of high value database information for products conceived and owned
by ACP as well as for such clients as Amway, Kraft General Foods,
Pillsbury, Clorox, and United Airlines.
In 1990, ACP conceived and built MCIs Enhanced Call
Router (ECR) service. ACP originated the idea and then, under
contract to MCI, wrote the software, installed our proprietary Ditech
voice response hardware directly in the MCI network, developed the
marketing plans, hired and trained a specialized sales force, and
launched the product for MCIall in a short span of ten months.
This innovative software and hardware combination enabled MCI to
route callers through its voice response network with access to
custom databases, without the need of operator assistance. The product
was so successful that MCI bought the ECR division from ACP in 1991.

ACP
created two telecommunications subsidiaries: Ditech and Globe
Wireless. Master-minded by the same engineering group that built
the high capacity switches used by ACP and MCI, Ditech develops
and markets digital echo cancellers that reduce feedback on long
distance and cellular telephone calls. Our unique approach to digital
signal processing technology made it possible to build market share
by pricing our feature-rich technologies well below the competition.
As a result, ACP became a major supplier to MCI, LDDS, MFS, LCI
Communications, and other independent carriers. Ditech has recently
introduced its echo canceller into several foreign markets as well,
including Mexico, Sweden, Germany, and Canada.
In
1994 ACP acquired Globe Wireless, a marine communications
company that provides the telegraphy, teletype, and satellite services
for ocean-going vessels. Globe uses ACPs expertise in digital
signal processing to enhance the reception of weak radio signals
and to increase the transmission capacity of radio frequencies.
This unique combination of network technology expertise and automated
routing systems is revolutionizing the sizable marine communications
market by expanding the capabilities of on-board communications
systems and reducing costs worldwide.
Always
anticipating the future of interactive communications with as many
touch-points as possible for one-to-one communication, ACP created
Callgistics. This
interactive tool integrates the telephone with the World Wide Web.
Callgistics connects Internet users to customer service or sales
representatives without the need to dial a phone number. The consumer
takes control by requesting a call at any time over regular phone
lines. No holding. No waiting. Its automatic: a consumer clicks
the Callgistics icon and receives a call immediately. Similarly,
web sites can use Calligistics to engage the consumer directly by:
-
Sending promotional CallMail: embedded HTML emails allowing
consumers to click and connect to representatives
- Displaying CallBanners: Consumers respond interactively to banners
and automatically receive a call from a sales consultant or other
designated agent
Callgistics
makes it possible to increase the number and focus of touch points
on a web site, resulting in higher and more targeted click-through
rates, by initiating consumer dialogue and relationships, and empowering
the consumer in the process.
